Hadaka Necktie-chan by Fujio

Let's talk about Hadaka Necktie-chan.

Several years ago, the doujinshi circle green park published a series of strips about a cute, innocent boy that says nothing and wears only a black tie and matching socks. The art style is very cute, and the stories are funny. Now, these self-published comics are being reprinted in Magazine Be-Boy.

Because of the art style, it isn't as pervy as it could have been, what with a lead character nearly naked the entire time (and that magical tie is always working, making sure nothing is seen.) If this was done in a more realistic style...
An awkward moment for all one.
From episode 18, "Necktie Koukan", Be-Boy 8/2011

Along with Necktie-chan, there's a rich boy who has an obvious crush on N-chan, a fat guy who took N-chan in (and is very tsundere), and Shimamura, a dog N-chan found in a parking lot. And N-chan, who is so sweet and so oblivious, really only shows his affection to one of them.

True love, people.
From episode 11, "Aitakute", Be-Boy 12/2010

I do feel a bit bad for Fat Man. As the story unfolds, it looks more and more likely that Rich Boy will be N-Chan's designated love interest, if such a thing is possible when N-chan is really just a big, dopey child. (Although, it's not like either really stand a chance again the juggernaut of love that is Shimamura the dog.)

I'll just have to wait for the next issue, don't I.

I'm not sure when, or even if, this series will be reprinted in tankoubon form. Each episode only takes up two pages, and tankoubon usually clock in at around 200. The original self-published books are out there (there's at least 6, and I'm pretty sure there was once a web page that had the whole series up online), so if you're feeling adventurous, you'll find them.

The artist, Fujio, has a blog, as well as a twitter account, so feel free to check them out as well.

Next time, either Not Equal or Ai to wa Yobenai. We'll see.
